► CASABLANCA DESERT TOUR, 12 DAYS TOUR FROM CASABLANCA ITINERARY:
1st Day: Casablanca Airport -Casablanca :
On the first day of the Casablanca desert tour, we will meet you at the airport upon your arrival. After that, we will transfer you to your accommodation in Casablanca overnight and breakfast.
If time allows, we will visit the Hassan II Mosque.
2nd day: Casablanca- Rabat:
We will pick you up from the hotel and explore the imperial city, Casablanca. Also, we will make a stop visiting the Hassan II Mosque and Mohammed V Square before departing to Rabat. The latter is where you can visit the “Mechouar of the Royal Palace”, “the Mohammed V Mausoleum” and “the Hassan Tower”. Overnight in a hotel or Riad in the Medina of Rabat. This is how our second day of 12 days tour from Casablanca is planed.
3rd Day: Rabat -Volubilis – Meknes – Fes:
After breakfast in your accommodation, we will start our journey towards the ancient Roman town – Unesco World Heritage Site- we will discover these Roman ruins. Then we continue our way to Meknes where we will visit: The gate of Bab Mansour, the Granary, The Swani basin, the old medina with its Souks, and Lahdim square. In the late afternoon, We set off for Fes. Overnight in a traditional Riad in the Medina.
4th Day: Fes city tour with a local guide:
Today, you will be met with a local guide with whom you will start your city tour by visiting first the outside part of the Medina ( old city ) including The Royal Palace Gate, the Jewish Quarter ”Mellah ” – dates back to the 14th Century. You will also visit the pottery section to see traditional Moroccan crafts.
Afterward, you will cover the most important sites inside the medina with a cultural and historical interest including the Bou Inania Medersa, Blue gate, the Karaouiyine Mosque, The Big Chouara Tanneries ..and more suggested by the guide. Overnight in your Riad.
5th Day: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest- Ziz Valley- Erfoud-Merzouga:
After breakfast, we will travel through the middle atlas mountains. On the way, we will stop at Ifran, a small charming, clean town, known as ” Switzerland of Morocco ” because of its similarity to a Swiss alpine resort. We continue south passing through the largest cedar forest in North Africa and home to barbary monkies, we will have a chance to take fascinating pictures and feed the monkies.
After lunch in Midelt, we head south towards the region of Ziz valley where we will stop for a breathtaking panoramic view for this hidden oasis filled with palm groves. After that, we continue through Erfoud to Merzouga desert you will ride the camels and cross the high dunes of Erg Chebbi desert, see a magnificent sunset on top of a high dune. After that, we continue trekking towards the desert camp. After dinner, you’ll enjoy Berber music played by nomads around the bonfire and under a starry sky.
6th Day: Erg Chebbi tour – Khamlia – Nomadic families :
Waking up early morning is a must to see what could be the most beautiful sunrise in your life. After breakfast, we will begin our desert excursion in the Sahara desert to explore the different parts of the desert. First, we will see the lake of Merzouga that is home to exotic birds. Then head directly to the middle of the Sahara desert where nomads with their animals still live a traditional life, we will share a cup of tea with them and see how they live.
Afterward, we take the route where Rally Paris Dakar used to race, then we get to Mifis mines that once used to be exploited by France, time to visit them. We continue our journey to Khamlia village that is inhabited by black Berber people originated from Mali, Niger …
We will have a chance to listen to their music, dance, and have lunch in the village ( Berber Pizza). Then, we set off to visit an impressive oasis on the edge of sand dunes before we end up our day in the hotel where you can enjoy the afternoon.
7th Day: Merzouga-Rissani Market – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley:
After breakfast at the hotel we’ll leave the desert and travel towards the city of Rissani if it coincides with the day markets which take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays we will have an opportunity to visit the souk – the largest and most authentic one in the region. We then continue our journey to Dades valley passing through villages such as Millab, Tinjdad, Toroug to arrive later to Todra valley which is a green one surrounded by mud villages and mountains.
Driving around 30 min we get to Todra gorges: a narrow vertical passage with vertical cliffs 300m high rising dramatically on each side, they are a popular destination for climbing lovers. Lunch in the town, continue to Dades Valley where we will stay overnight in a hotel overlooking the valley
8th Day: Dades Valley -Ouarzazate- Ait Benhaddou – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech :
After an early breakfast Dades Valley, we leave towards Ouarzazate ” Hollywood of Africa ” -with the biggest cinema studios in Morocco, then we head towards to the most famous, filmed and photographed kasbah of Ait Benhaddou – A Unesco World Heritage site – We’ll have free time to visit it. After, we continue to Marrakech via high atlas mountains (2260m).
9th Day: Marrakech city tour :
You will have a guided tour of Marrakech including a visit to the Menara Gardens, the Koutoubia Mosque, the Saâdien tombs, and the Bahia Palace. You can explore the amazing medina and the fascinating Jamaa El Fna square with lively entertainment and lovely Souks.
10th Day: Marrakech – Essaouira:
On this day we will start our lovely journey in the morning towards Essaouira, this small town in the seaside, known for its fresh air and seafood, also it has a windy beach all year which gives you a good vacation feeling.
It’s Medina has a unique and organized style comparing to the ones we have seen before on this trip ( Fes, Marrakech). Also, here you can enjoy relaxing shopping experience.
Overnight in Hotel or Riad.
11th Day: Essaouira – Casablanca :
After breakfast, we depart from Essaouira and heading to Casablanca, ( departure time may vary), we stop by El Jadida or Mazagan, a fortified city on the Atlantic coast, registered as world heritage by UNESCO aa outstanding example of the interchange of influences between European and Moroccan cultures”.
Also, as an “early example of the realization of the Renaissance ideals integrated with Portuguese construction technology, after a stop to visit the Portuguese fortress, we continue to Casablanca, arrival in the afternoon.
Overnight in Casablanca.
12th Day: Casablanca – Airport:
After breakfast in the hotel, we will do some sightseeing in Casablanca ( if time allows). Next, we transfer you to the airport according to your flight time. It is the end of our desert tour from Casablanca, 12 days tour from Casablanca.
